Redbud is one of the most interesting local flowering trees. The flowers appear in clusters on the bare branches before the leaves open.

Nice picture of one of the Rosebud trees. We just planted two Eastern Rosebud "Forest Pansy"s in our front yard. The leaves will emerge in a burgundy color after those beautiful pink flowers.
