April is a busy time for birds and a great time to visit the Sanctuary. The geese, swans and herons are building nests and incubating eggs. By late April, some eggs begin to hatch.

Visitors can walk the path along Wintergreen Lake to get up close views of nesting. The path is stroller and wheelchair accessible. Feed the birds with corn available in the Sanctuary’s Resource Center.
